Amnesty: USA haben den IS 2016 massiv in Millionenhöhe im Irak mit Waffen versorgt

Ein Bericht macht deutlich, dass die US Regierung Obama 2016 den IS im Irak massiv mit Waffen beliefert hatte. 

Waffen die auch für den Kampf gegen den IS vorgesehen waren. landeten natürlich rein zufällig oftmals beim IS im Irak, der dort 2006 entstand.

Immer wieder gab es Berichte, dass US Militärs Waffen aus Flugzeugen in Gebieten abwarfen, die vom IS kontrolliert worden war.

Der Waffenexperte Patrick Wilcken von Amnesty International hat eine entsprechende Untersuchung publiziert.  

Während Amnesty eine Fehlleitung vermutet, machten US Geheimdiesnstpapiere schon 2010 deutlich, dass die USA ein Interesse an der Erstarkung des IS im Irak und in Syrien hatten, damit ein Gegenstaat in Syrien etabliert werden konnte, der die Assad Regierung massiv bekämpfen und stürzen könne, was auch im Interesse der Opposition sei. 

Dafür haben die USA geholfen, einen Korridor bei Azaaz entlang des Euphrat zu schaffen, der eine kontinuierliche Versorgung des IS via Türkei  mit Waffen sichern sollte. 

The government audit, from September 2016, reveals that the DoD “did not have accurate, up-to-date records on the quantity and location”of a vast amount of equipment pouring into Kuwait and Iraq to provision the Iraqi Army.

“This audit provides a worrying insight into the US Army’s flawed – and potentially dangerous - system for controlling millions of dollars’ worth of arms transfers to a hugely volatile region,” said Patrick Wilcken, Amnesty International’s Arms Control and Human Rights Researcher.

It makes for especially sobering reading given the long history of leakage of US arms to multiple armed groups committing atrocities in Iraq, including the armed group calling itself the Islamic State.

The transfers, which include tens of thousands of assault rifles (worth USD$28 million), hundreds of mortar rounds and hundreds of Humvee armoured vehicles, were destined for use by the central Iraqi Army, including the predominantly Shi’a Popular Mobilisation Units, as well as the Kurdish Peshmerga forces.

“After all this time and all these warnings, the same problems keep re-occurring. This should be an urgent wake-up call for the US, and all countries supplying arms to Iraq, to urgently shore up checks and controls. Sending millions of dollars’ worth of arms into a black hole and hoping for the best is not a viable counter-terrorism strategy; it is just reckless,” said Patrick Wilcken.

Amnesty International has confirmed that the US Army gave ISIS $1 billion worth of arms and equipment in Iraq during President Obama's final year in office, according to a report.The data was obtained by the human rights group following a freedom of information request for a 2016 government audit.“This audit provides a worrying insight into the US Army’s flawed — and potentially dangerous system for controlling millions of dollars’ worth of arms transfers to a hugely volatile region,” Patrick Wilcken, Amnesty’s researcher on international arms control, said in a statement. “It makes for especially sobering reading given the long history of leakage of US arms to multiple armed groups committing atrocities in Iraq, including the armed group calling itself the Islamic State.” In 2015, the US gave $1.57 billion worth of equipment to Iraq to help them fight ISIS through the Iraq Train and Equip Fund.Now it has been revealed they also funded the enemy, providing them with weapons.The Army’s 1st Theater Sustainment Command “did not have accurate, up-to-date records on the quantity and location of [Iraq Train and Equip Fund] equipment on hand in Kuwait and Iraq,” the Pentagon’s inspector general wrote in the audit, The Hill reports.Tens of thousands of assault rifles, hundreds of mortar rounds and armored Humvees were among the equipment given to ISIS in Iraq, Amnesty said.According to Amnesty, the US army’s lack of control over its weapons was also exposed in a 2015 audit.The 2015 audit prompted Congress to commit to keeping a stricter control of its weapons.

CIA koordiniert Waffenlieferungen nach Syrien

Eine Gruppe CIA-Agenten ist offenbar im Süden der Türkei aktiv. Medienberichten zufolge koordiniert sie von dort aus, welche syrische Widerstandsgruppe welche Waffen erhält.

er amerikanische Auslandsgeheimdienst CIA überwacht den Fluss von Waffen an die syrischen Rebellen und versucht diesen zu koordinieren. Wie amerikanische Medien unter Berufung auf Regierungsmitarbeiter in Washington und in arabischen Staaten berichteten, ist eine kleine Gruppe von CIA-Agenten im Süden der Türkei im Einsatz, um mit den Diensten verbündeter Staaten zu entscheiden, welche Widerstandsgruppe welche Waffen erhält.

Diverse Waffenlieferungen an die syrischen Rebellen umfassen Maschinengewehre, Munition, schultergestützte Raketen sowie Panzerabwehrwaffen. Die Waffen werden von der Türkei, Saudi-Arabien und Qatar bezahlt und zum großen Teil über die Landgrenze von der Türkei aus nach Syrien geschmuggelt.

Wie die Tageszeitungen „New York Times“ und „Wall Street Journal“ übereinstimmend berichteten, sind die CIA-Mitarbeiter seit einigen Wochen in der Süd-Türkei im Einsatz. Sie sollen unter anderem verhindern, dass Waffen in die Hände von Kämpfern des Terrornetzes „Al Qaida“ fallen. Das amerikanische Außenministerium hat medizinische Hilfsmittel sowie Kommunikationsausrüstung im Wert von 15 Millionen Dollar für zivile Oppositionsgruppen in Syrien bereitgestellt. Washington beharrt darauf, dass sich die amerikanische Hilfe für die syrische Opposition auf „nicht tödliche Mittel“ beschränkt. Soweit die FAZ. 

Die CIA nutzt dabei den Trick, angeblich moderate Dschihadisten zu beliefern, die aber ledigluch als Makler und Zwischenhändler agieren udn die Waffen in der Regel letztendlich bei der Nusrafront der Al Kaida oder gar beim IS landen. 

Die Politikerin Gabbard wiederholte auf CNN den Vorwurf, dass die USA die Al Kaida und später den IS selber geschaffen habe.
